Waking in your arms 
I’m back beside the ocean 
On warm sand 
Watching the waves crash

Contented as I join the day
My thoughts are at low tide
Noticing only the way your touch glitters across my skin 
Like the sun kissing the water’s edge 

You ask me how I feel about the sun 
And in that moment 
I feel a love from you
The way the sea is loved by the sky’s warm dappled light
Generous, uncontained, steeped in magic

My mind attempts to chatter
“I wish this moment could last forever” 
But right now is everything 
Right now is forever 
Eternal present 
So in truth 
I have everything I could want 

Your energy lingers inside me
A playful sea of harmony and contrast 
That leaves even a wordsmith woman
Speechless
